 2009-09 Hesed House Donation Minimize

Kendall County Democratic Women President Chrisi Vineyard (left) presents a donation to Hesed House Director of Development Mary Ensor (right). Hesed House provides assistance to the poor and homeless (including families with children) in the Fox Valley area. The non-profit organization serves southern Kane County and all of Kendall County, and is Kendall County’s only shelter.  In addition to shelter, the organization provides employment education and training, medical assistance, counseling, help obtaining housing, and much more. A new building at their Aurora location is currently under construction and will provide additional office, training, conference, and medical space to help transition people out of homelessness. “Since 1983, Hesed House has been there to help people put their lives back together by creating plans of hope for those who enter through its doors”. For more information about Hesed House visit www.hesedhouse.org. Donations were collected at a recent wine and cheese event hosted by the Democratic Women at Second Opinion Health Foods (www.asecondopinionhfs.com) in Oswego. Guests visited, shopped, and chatted with local and statewide candidates, and learned about how the county health system operates and what resources are available from the Kendall County Board of Health Executive Director/Public Health Administrator, Cheryl Johnson. The Democratic Women regularly host complimentary wine and cheese mixers to promote local businesses and raise awareness for local charitable organizations. Please contact the Kendall County Democratic Women with your suggestions for businesses and organizations to promote at kendalldemwomen@kendalldemnet.com.
