Yorkville resident and Kendall County Democratic Women member Robyn Sutcliff was awarded the 2009 Illinois Democratic Women (IDW) Hillary Rodham Clinton Leadership Award at the annual IDW convention banquet in Springfield on April 24th. The event was held at the at the Governor’s mansion. Among the guests were State Comptroller Dan Hynes, State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, many State Representatives, State Senators, and many Democratic women representing counties throughout the state. Representing Kendall County were Robyn Sutcliff, Evelyn Givens, Chrisi Vineyard, and Kelly Pfarrer. Also attending was Chuck Sutcliff, Robyn’s spouse and Chairman of the Kendall County Democratic Central Committee, who attended the monthly Democratic County Chairman’s meeting earlier that day.
The Kendall County Democratic Women (KCDW) proudly nominated Robyn for the award because, although there are many active local Democratic women, Robyn and her accomplishments stand out tremendously. Robyn has demonstrated a long term and passionate commitment to the Democratic Party on every level. Her enthusiasm, hard work, and record of getting things done are greatly appreciated in Kendall County and beyond. Previous recipients of the award include Attorney General Lisa Madigan, Congresswoman Debbie Halvorson, and DeKalb County Democratic Party Chair Eileen Dubin. Congratulations Robyn!
Among Robyn’s many accomplishments are her election as City of Yorkville 3rd Ward Alderman, graduation from the 2008 IWIL (Illinois Women in Leadership) program, and serving her second term as the Treasurer of the Kendall County Democrats. Robyn excels at all she does for the Democratic Party, all while being a devoted, hands-on mom of two teenagers.
